SoundPaint Community for Musicians
My goal for you is to be able to play with confidence in who you are as a uniquely defined musician, have the intuition to steer around musical obstacles with accuracy, understanding and deep insight as to what the theory is of what you're playing, and be able to play with the freedom to enjoy playing music without the frustration of stressing and focusing on perfection.
As a teacher, I dream BIG for my students! Over the years I've learned that anything is achievable if you're willing to be patient and consistent with yourself!

My goal for you
I've been playing music since 1992 (I was 10 when I picked up my first instrument, the flute), teaching music one on one since 2005, and graduated from Seton Hall University in 2013 with a BS in Secondary Education, with a concentration in the electric bass guitar.
As a musician I have played/sung both solo and as a part of jazz bands, rock bands and modern worship teams at many popular establishments and venues in New Jersey and NYC. As a songwriter, performer and recording engineer, I have an intimate knowledge of the struggles that new and experienced musicians face when trying to express themselves musically. Mixed in there with all my musical experience, I've also undergone rigorous psychology training and application (from another job I worked at before the big, world crash of 2020).
All this experienced combined has given me a unique and affective approach to teaching music, and I want the opportunity to see you succeed the way countless of my students have succeeded! In my method, I go past the (more childish) approach of a traditional music teacher, and become music mentor for you. In this way I can address you, a fellow musician, in a more holistic way. I don't just want to see your talent and skills increase, I want to guide you to a place where you can thrive in confidence in knowing who you are as a musician, empower you with the knowledge to overcome any musical confusion and struggle, guide you to a deeper insight as to the way you're wired to process music, and get you to a place where you can carve out your chosen musical path!
In 2021 I made the jump to fulfill my long-time dream of opening my own online music academy! The vision I had in mind was to create a place where musicians were safe to drop their ego and facade of being a virtuoso, so real growth can actually happen. SoundPaint Academy is a place where everyone is encouraged to be open about struggles (myself included!), and mutually be inspired to learn from one another.
If that all sounds like it speaks to you, then you belong here!
Amy’s community doesn’t just teach you how to get better at an instrument, it helps build confidence and self esteem.
My confidence in playing has boosted and I’ve never been more dedicated to an instrument!

This community is a cool place, and helps me a lot to figure out the musical stuff that confused me before. I feel so much more confident knowing that I know what the heck I'm doing!
